“El Rey” Mayan Ruins
The “El Rey” Mayan Ruins are among of the most significant archeological sites in Cancún. This former Mayan town is home to hundreds of iguanas today, so be sure to bring your camera. The ruins are open for exploration between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The Tulum Archaeological Site

La Isla Shopping Mall
Escape to this peaceful beach, located just beyond the bustle of the Hotel Zone. Playa Delfines translates to “Dolphin Beach” and is one of the best places around to spot these playful creatures. Parking is free and there’s no fee to enter.
This ancient archeological site is well worth a day trip. Between 200 and 800 A.D., Cobá was one of the biggest metropolises of the Mayan world. The settlement has over 6,500 structures, but only three groups of excavated buildings are open to visitors. Highlights include a “church” pyramid, Mayan stelae monuments, a temple with wall paintings and one of the tallest buildings in the Mayan area.
Xcaret is an eco-archaeological park where you can experience the best of Mexico all in one place. The park features more than 50 exciting things to do, including a traditional Fiesta Charra, Mayan ball game, jaguar and butterfly exhibits, snorkeling, swimming in an underground river and swimming with dolphins.
